Cars in Germany's City Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Roughly fifty vehicles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Cars, building surfaces and postboxes were marked, in some cases with swastikas, they stated in a statement.

Law enforcement report they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a man noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued liquid.

The liquid had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then discovered many other smeared vehicles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police state early analysis suggest the liquid was likely human blood.

"At present there remains no lead as to where it came from; officials are not yet informed of any injuries in association with the event," they commented.

City officials announced they were trying "to solve the case" and have requested to the residents for information.

A senior political figure said the vandalism rendered him stunned and required to be resolved promptly.

"This event strikes at the core of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack five years ago," he wrote on social media, referring to the killing of nine victims by a assailant aiming at residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
